No One Way to Go about Grief
Artist Statement/Game Description:
We grieve when we lose someone or something precious to us, but what if you were to grieve your own death? What a strange situation, fortunately, you have a most excellent guide through this, Death themself.
This experience is more on an educational reminder about the process of grieving presented in the form of a game. It is encouraged that you think about what has happened in your life that you have not had time to reflect on. This is a game about prioritizing your own health and taking your time.
6 years ago (oof it's been a while), the world experienced a global pandemic that took many lives and foundational moments from us. There have been no memorials created to remember and honor those lost. The world (mostly -_-) quarantined so to not spread the virus, limiting physical contact as much as possible. Many who were in school (typically elementary to high school) were slower to pick up crucial social skill due to not having in-person social interactions with their peers.
As a whole, we as a people have not really slowed down to grieve those we lost and what we missed out on. I feel that there is a hidden grief that myself and others carry that we need to process and heal from.
